Today’s photo was a photo of a new piece of art.

I needed it to include in the entry to this art show I’m trying to get into, called Art in the Open.

It was hard to get this all done, as I felt really sick, and moving around made me cough even more.

But now it’s done, and sent, and i won’t hear anything for 3 weeks.

In the meanwhile, you can look at it and tell me what you think.

It’s called “Protection”, inspired by a few different Bible passages.

It’s mixed media, made with acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, ink on a cradled wood board.

It’s 10″ x20″.

And it’s for sale.

Also, I didn’t forget to announce the winner to a print.

Here’s my photo. I’ve been meaning to take this photo for a couple weeks.

This tree, the sweet gum tree, grows in my friend’s front yard. It’s very interesting looking because it has these funny/cool looking seed pods, and they are still on the tree, even after this long and harsh winter.

Today, with the blue skies, seemed like a perfect day to photograph them. Of course, the wind picked up right as I was trying to get a photo.

I also worked on a short sunset timelapse…

climbing the walls

Our boys have been climbing the walls.

I mean, literally…. watch this video…

That’s the hardest thing about the summer. The boys just have energy galore. They have no school. So I have them all day, and I’m trying to come up with a variety of activities.

We’ve gone out everyday. Trips ranging from the library, to Botanical Gardens, to the beach. But still, if they’re home for any length of time, they are driving me up the walls. Though I cannot climb like Willik. Phoenix is desperately trying to learn, but his legs just don’t reach far enough yet.

So, if you think of it, say a prayer for my sanity in these last 2 weeks in this house. With no backyard. And mostly no Fabio.
