The boys looked so handsome, and Willik had said Phoenix looked like a boy model.  So I decided I should take some pictures.

This one was my favorite.  Just look at the love on Phoenix’s face.  Willik often does not realize how much his brother adores him.

Since they were posing, here’s one more.  They are indeed, quite handsome, aren’t they?? I guess I’m biased!

As you can see, I’m missing some days in there…. Life must go on, even if I did not snap a photo.

Soon,we will move into May….

After school, and after homework, I coaxed the boys into going outside, rather than sitting inside to watch TV.

Although they didn’t thank me, I think they had a good time…

Not from doing art, but from doing too many other things, and barely finding time for art.

The day before yesterday, we attended a spaghetti dinner concert for Willik’s Got String? orchestra.

I love how concentrated he is.

Yesterday, I was at someone’s house with a beautiful backyard, but I didn’t have my camera.

Instead, I took a picture of my cup of paint water.

I love how the paint swirls when I just do a quick dip to get some water in my brush.

It’s cool how physics are working to do that, even though I don’t understand any of it.

You may be seeing more artist at work pictures this month than you care too!

That plan never panned out.

Instead we went to eat at a nice Chinese restaurant.

Then we took the boys to Happy Tymes.

They had their first go-cart experiences.

Willik went on his own, and had a minor incident where he almost ran over the  guys running the place…then he got the hang of the thing…

Phoenix decided he didn’t feel ready to drive on his own, and rode with Fabio.

I didn’t drive because I decided that I wanted to get pictures instead.

All had a good time.

The pros, there are lots of things to shoot.

The cons, expecting my husband and sons to cooperate for “normal” photos.

I managed to get a few good ones.

My favorite, the silliness going on by the huge pile of railroad ties…

Not sure what was so interesting that they were all looking at it, but at least they are all facing one direction.

Willik proved to be the best model.

Phoenix does best when he’s not asked to smile.

I will go back and shoot more.

Basically none of those things happened.

But two other great things happened.

Fabio finally got a chance to put up our fallen mailbox!

I organized lots of bulk food I bought this week into nice ball jars.

Aren’t they pretty?

Today, toting the whole family and friends.

We made our way thru the boathouse row,  then reading terminal to eat, then some super yummy coffee before eventually stopping by to say to Fabio’s mom, and heading home to make dinner.

It was a great day.

The boys have such fun with Luke.

She was one of at least 2 or 3 other people I saw painting in plein aire.  I was hoping I could do that someday!

Still didn’t make it to the museum.

Willik is “shining”.

These guys were finishing near the waterworks museum.  It seemed like a great spot to be quiet.

Reading terminal was delicious…. as usual.

And very picturesque…

We went to NYC for a day of giving. 5 families, armed with 200 brown lunch bags.

We went to join Graffiti Church‘s efforts to feed the homeless and others with difficulties.

Did you know that we were able to feed someone by spending only $1.13.  That included getting paper goods and replenishing Graffiti’s coffee.

A nice, tuna salad sandwich on a kaiser roll, a snack-sized bag of  baby carrots and a yummy sweet and filling granola bar.  And a cup of coffee.

I am always amazed how little it takes, financially, that is.

The biggest sacrifice is the time and willingness to get it done.

Anyway, one of the blessings for me was to see 6 boys, from different walks of life, with different circumstances, having so much fun together.

So, my picture of the day are those boys, on 7th Street, being little boys!

We all should have this much fun everyday!

The other pictures seemed to fit a theme… yellow.

Love those Lower East Side Gardens.

Wish I had a little Vespa like that!

It sure does help with those dreary winter days in the city!

This is Kurby– a friend’s dog…

He enjoyed posing for me.

Willik and Phoenix got their haircuts.  But Phoenix has been featured a few times already on my blog, and I figured it was Willik’s turn.

From a large curly top to a buzz.  He’s cute either way!

And Phoenix enjoyed getting licked!

And they started asking me if this is the kind of dog I would consider!

No, only because I really don’t think we need another pet.  One cat and 2 gerbils is more than enough, thanks!

This snow thing is completely out of control.

The good news is, today we were invited to a friend’s house.  They had a lot of snow, piled high by the plowing and shoveling and digging out.  So, they made forts.

They also use their deck in the back yard as a sledding launch.

The boys had a blast with their friends.

Here, the photo of the day is Phoenix and his friend, who, when asked to get in the tunnel, posed no problem.  Smiling on the other hand, was never going to happen, so I used the moment to get the silliest picture I could…

Much sledding happened as well…

and the little one just found his own fun… shoveling.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a beautiful sunny day, and snow won’t be a part of any of my pictures.

This project entails taking one picture everyday, for a whole year.

Now, there are days that I take hundreds of pictures, there are days I take none.

I need to fix that, and this is my way to work on that frequency thing.

I have to use my camera everyday.  I need to decide on one photo to submit per day.

Most photos will be taken with my newest camera, a Canon 50d, which was a wonderful Christmas present from my husband, my biggest fan!

Some photos will be from my older canon, the rebel xt(350d).  Some might even be taken with the camera phone(LG Optimus).

Here’s what he created this morning, in front of my very eyes…

and if you’re not familiar with who he is, he’s the one about to get hit by the “obstacle” while he and his brother prepare in “Ninja School”.

I woke up hearing the two of them playing. And playing nicely. No bickering. Notell-tale. I even peeked in the living room, without being noticed, and they were playing a memory game which they haven’t touched in ages. I then tip-toed back to my room to check on emails, before joining them for cereal breakfast–another rare event.

What can all this fun be attributed to? A non-rush morning. It’s true! We didn’t have anywhere to be. We didn’t have school or “graffiti“, to which Phoenix exclaimed, “Yeaaah!” Soccer is canceled for today because of the holiday weekend, and it proved to be a great thing! They were playing til recently, and then as I write this, they are out with dad for a boys’ run on the nearby track. A much beloved but also rare activity.

I guess we should “schedule” more days with nothing to do!
